new camera!!!!

Alright, I am back again.
Before I start, I have deleted the previous blog about me struggling to get a new camera.
plus a correction for my previous previous blog about the nuts, its not Picasso nut but pistachio nut.

ok, thats all...here is show time!!!
first of all, I got my new camera!!!!!

I wanted a Casio EX-Z77 but it cost 800++ , and the sales lady recommended me Casio EX-Z75 which cost RM699 (offer rate) and it has the same function as 77 just the design is different.
So..I got mine!!!

Chocolate...

Monday usually is a boring day...furthermore we are going to have final exam next week~ no mood for anything...

while we are having our last OB class, suddenly Chef Loke came in and asked us to move to Pastry kitchen right after class..

first thing come to my mind was "I got no CAMERA!!!!" T_T

cut the crap and zoooommm...we are in pastry kitchen~
we dont really know why are we there..but it has something to do with chocolates..
not "Kampong Shokolat" (French style) but Belgium Chocolate!!!!!
wh-wh-WHAT??!!! B-Be-Bel-BELGIUM??!!!!
am I dreaming or what??

this is Chef David from France, but he came over from China to launch Belcolade's Starter Pack (I guess so)..didnt really pay attention to his presentation at the beginning due to all the chocolate floating in my mind~

he told us about the process of chocolate, what is good chocolate, best temperature for chocolate...etc etc~

as what the purpose of this starter pack is "everyone can make chocolate"
before this Belcolade's main target is only hotels, restaurants,chocolate outlet and pastry outlet.
But now they are moving on to public!!!! Today is the official launching of this starter pack~

preparation...nuts for filling....

melting chocolate for several times and it have to be stirred from time to time...

finally...voila!!! Nice warm Belgium Chocolate...hmmmmmmmmm~~(we haven't take our lunch at this stage, but the aroma of chocolate calm us down a little)

for decoration~ red colouring + cocoa butter (1st layer), white colouring + cocoa butter (2nd layer), ganash (melted choc as 3rd layer), on a plastic sheet
setting in fridge and roll it like California roll and set in fridge again...

he also made a chocolate lollipop..seriously, it is damn easy!!!!

this is our favorite..looks like the chocolate we bought in the market, but this is freshly made!!!(there are hazel nuts and Picasso nut inside)
he said that normally chocolate need to be set for 1 day...but these demo is only few minutes..as we hold it, it starts melting...as I took a bite on it...
UhUhhhh~~~this is HEAVEN!!!!!!!!!!!!! (anyway, this is only 50% cocoa..but still feels great as this is PURE BELGIUM CHOCOLATE~)

raisins, hazel nuts and Picasso nuts....(we are going to the climax at this point!!)

then he took a big mixing bowl filled with melted chocolate, add in abit of water...show us the changes of texture. Then he asked "there is only one thing we can do with this..which is??"

someone "eat!!"

chef "no..we throw it" (he poured the chocolate in the rubbish bin!!!! OMG (o_O)
yes, he did bring us down from climax back to zero.. haha

what a great day before final exam...we woke up from dream and back to normal after that..

Chocolate is the best!!!

It has been a week since I last blogged.

many things has happened..and I got 1 more week to final, 2 more weeks to industrial training..EXCITED!!!

Friday was William's 19th birthday..so we went to Station One at Tayton to yum cha...
unfortunately we got no cake for him..so...

ya, we ordered sliced cake for him...
not one piece...but

4!!! we told them to put all in 1 plate..unfortunately they dont understand us..nvm~

one is cheese cake and this is flourless choc cake..
can you believe it?? flourless??!!! how to make a cake without flour..
all of us are clueless...until the arrival of Kelvin!! ( he came late due to rushing his assignment..making 3 layers wedding cake!!!)

as a student of MIB ( Malaysia Institute of Bakery)..he do the food tasting
note: this scene happen right at the end..notice the amount of cake left on the plate

so conclusion..there is no flour in this cake and it is fully chocolate~ (this is from me, not the pro..haha)

alright alright..rewind back before the arrival of Kelvin~
so we start eating cake...but sadly..
when our Mr.Lim is celebrating his 19th birthday with 4 pieces of cake...there are about 6 tables singing happy birthday song 1 by 1 with big cakes and candles..
we kena "tapau" by them... =_="

after some cake eating..we start playing cards as usual..

**at this point, I got nothing better to do..

punishment for each round is eating these cakes...

and while we are all having fun...something unusual happened...

we saw something...we were shocked for a moment..

ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!! Ah Zan is back~ (Zan Zi is her name in a ghost movie if not mistaken)
after settle down..we continue with our activities...

somewhere around here...Andrew throw us 3 weird IQ questions..said it is for some job interview~

1st : dividing gold for a worker
2nd: 4 prisoners, 4 caps
3rd: 10 bottles of pills, 1 bottle replaced with poison pills.

just summary of the questions..heard before?? ha-ha-ha~

then we took a pic (Kelvin is not here yet, we got this by putting the camera on the chair's head)

then we continue..and continue..talk non stop~
and my nightmares arrive...

dont know what is she thinking...I didnt notice that until i look at this pic.. =_="

anyway, beside celebrating William's birthday, it was also my last chance meeting them before going for industrial training~ will surely miss you guys always!!!

come Penang find me!!! (will surely entertain you guys if you come at the right time...)

next day, went to MidValley watch movies..(my first time since watching Next at Pyramid..)
watched 2 in a row... Enchanted 4.45pm and Bee Movie 7.00pm~ tiring..
but it was a great evening...THANKS!!! haha
(my last time to go out due to study week has arrived...STUDY STUDY STUDY!!! cannot screw up my sem 5!!!)

a friend of my aunt has passed away. Uncle Tian Sung is what we normally called him, he is generous and kind to all of us...I was shocked when got the news from my bro..life is so fragile.

something happen to my camera..after deleting 1 pic, suddenly "System Error" and it is not functioning anymore..need to send it back to factory for repairing..
but can the camera make it before I leaving KL?? No camera no life!!!!
I am so lost now...should I buy another 1?? but will be using quite alot of money in Penang..so, this idea is not a good 1..
what I can do now is kept fingers cross and hope my camera will be fixed in time and follow me to Penang..I need it for all the beaches and sun set!!!!

achieving your childhood dreams...

After plenty of food, random blog of mine...today, I want to share something nice with you guys..this doesn't mean that all the blogs before this is not nice, just that this is slightly...informative?? haha

few days back, got no class until 10.30am. Before leave my place at 6.30am (leave so early to avoid traffic jam and get free parking), grabbed all yesterday newspaper and head to college. As usual, reach there have my breakfast in car and relax...then I pulled out Sin Chew Plus (1 of my favorite section beside entertainment and sports)

On the cover, there is a big title " Still remember your childhood dreams?"

so i took few minutes to read the article..

It is about a guy named Randy Pausch from Carnegie Mellon University. He is a Professor in the university and in USA, every lecturer who is going to retire will give a chance to have "The Last Lecture"...but in Randy's case, it is different.

He will be giving his last lecture because he has been diagnosed with Terminal Pancreatic Cancer and was told in August 2007 to expect a remaining of 3 to 6 months of good health.

Given this opportunity to have his last lecture, he did not talk about cancer nor his family future. But he chose to talk about "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams"(watch it here)

In this 1 hour plus talk, Randy will talk about how is he going to achieve all of his childhood dreams. This talk was modeled after an ongoing series of lectures where top academics are asked to think deeply about what matters to them, and then give a hypothetical "final talk", for example "what wisdom would you try to impart to the world if you knew it was your last chance?"

this talk has motivated many teenagers like me who have forgotten about childhood dreams..maybe it is time for me to achieve it~

if you cant change the fate, why not face it!!!
the wall is not stopping you, it wants you to show how much you want it...it only will stop those who dont really want it, but it surely will push you forward to get what you want.
