facebook kills me blog??
Recently I found out that I did not blog as often as before due to my laziness and facebook's status update. I tend to update more often on facebook as it is short, fast and it can be read by others as soon as I click "post". What's more at least friends will respond to my "status" with a "like" or at least a "LOL" rather than out of 285 entries, only 51 of them have someone commented on. Its barely 17%.
Is my post not interested enough to leave comment on?? Did I not promote my blog enough?? Is there anybody who is still reading my blog actually?? Forget about comments, my chatbox is half dead and the last one is from Kok Hong wishing me Happy Birthday. Before my birthday which is about a month ago, 2 online shops posted something on the chatbox on 3rd March and 21 January. I bet they regret the moment they post it up there after found out this blog is dying...
*sorry, I cant help to boost your online sales...
I tend to post up those photos I took but I guess reader just scroll down and say to themselves "oh..." then click close. Because, again...I upload them on facebook too. Its easier to interact there.
I dont post this entry to gain attention and want you guys to post 1000 comments on this entry or jam my chatbox with "Hi, Edward" or "nice blog Edward" or what so ever. I dont even blame facebook. Because my blog site is not on the 8 site I visited most via Google Chrome. shame on me...
by the way, I will start working on Wednesday at 3pm..first day itself already in afternoon shift. But I can walk in to the lobby wearing casual before start working because I will get my uniform only on that day.
and today suppose to meet up with lecturer to hand up my internship report and discuss about the final project. but got everything ready and she did not turn up after waited for 1 and half hour. what if the college say I submit my report late and fail me?? crap!
anyway, I will keep posting crap here according to my mood. like it or not, this is my world!

22
time really flies...
not just that my internship is coming to an end within 6 days...
but I am an adult for a year already!!! not exactly 1 year, but in 24 hours time, I will be...
what have I done for the past 1 year?
study, assignments, internship and most of the time, I fool around...fool around not as in I sleep around but I waste time...waste lots and lots of time!!!
most of the time, I am sitting in front of my laptop...I need to get a life rather than just online!
22 year old and all I wish is to have a more meaningful life...it has been awhile since i last bring my camera, walk around under hot sun and have some Me Time! I will do that once I complete my internship. =D
for most of the time, I am doing things alone in front of my laptop but yet I still feels like I spend not enough time for myself. Just because I waste time being alone rather than doing something more meaningful. will have to change it in 2010!!!
walking in to working life somehow gave me a thoughts that I can finally do something I like!!! because by that time I will be free from assignments! other than job stress, there aren't really anything else that can stop me from enjoying my life.
when we were younger, we always envy on adult's life because we hate to study. but here I am, standing in front of the door of working world. excited yet in doubt...but more on the excited side!
I am sure there are more things to worry in future, but I am growing up!!! not physically but mentally. =)
twenty two of age...I feel old already.

decided...

no. 280 entries...
just a number anyway...
I've decided for my future, temporary though
but will see where it leads me...
not the best choice in everyone's eye, but I choose my own path...if you dont feels like supporting me, then just forget it. I dont need you anyway because I have others who support me. The best part is, I support myself!!!
no regrets and am ready to face it. =)

2 days left...
mom called and asked what is my decision
I replied in a calm tone and said "see first..."
today is Wednesday anyway, 2 more days to go. I thought I have decided, but now I am in doubt again...
all these has distracted me, helpless yet need to face it...
time has come, my future is in my own hands...
[ There is a saying that urges, "Excel at something!" It is important to become a person who is trusted by others wherever you are, and a person who shines with excellence. Sometimes a person may dislike his job at first, but grow to love it once he become serious about doing his best. "What one likes, one will do well," goes another saying.
Growing to like your job can also enable you to develop your own talent. Once you have made a decision to work at a certain place, it is important that you pursue the path you have chosen without being discouraged or defeated, so that you will have no regrets in making that choice. ]

letter for myself
Dear Edward Low Sew Yin,
Hi, first and for most, Happy Chinese New Year and Happy Single Awareness Day (as if you ever celebrated Valentine's...lol) how are you lately?? I am fine here anyway.
The reason why did you write you this letter is because I have notice something recently and I got something really serious to tell you.
JUST FUCKING FOCUS ON WHAT YOU SUPPOSE TO BE DOING RIGHT NOW AND DO NOT LET ANY OTHER EXTERNAL SITUATIONS TO CHANGE YOUR FOCUS POINT!!!
YOU MUST BE CLEAR ON WHAT IS YOUR PRIORITY NOW!!! NOTHING IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THAT!!!
IT IS THE CRUCIAL MONTHS AS YOU MENTIONED BEFORE, JUST FUCKING STICK TO THE BLOODY PLAN AND DONT CHANGE IT!!!
YOU ARE AN ADULT ALREADY, NEED NOT ME TO TELL YOU WHAT ARE YOU SUPPOSE TO BE DOING!!!
BE SELFISH IN ORDER TO REACH YOUR GOALS AND OBJECTIVES. BEING TOO KIND AINT GOING TO DO ANY GOOD TO YOURSELF ANYWAY!!!
THIS IS THE REAL WORLD, FACE THE FACT THAT YOU HAVE TO THINK FOR YOURSELF BEFORE THINK FOR OTHERS!!! WHY DO YOU CARE SO MUCH ON HOW OTHERS FEEL WHEN THEY DONT GIVE A DAMN ON HOW YOU FEEL?? WHY DO YOU CARE SO MUCH WHEN THEY DONT EVEN CARE FOR THEMSELVES??
YOU WILL BE JUST A JOKE AT THE END BECAUSE ALL THE EFFORT YOU TRY TO MAKE SOMEONE FEELS BETTER, EVENTUALLY MAKES YOURSELF FEEL SUCKS!!! AND THEY WILL ONLY LAUGH AT YOU!!!
MARK MY WORDS!!! DO WHAT YOU SUPPOSE TO BE DOING AND DONT SLACK ANYMORE!!!
lastly, do take care of yourself. you lost some appetite recently. eat up and drink more water. =)
cheers!!!
your sincerely,
Edward Low Sew Yin

虎劳也!!!
know what does that mean?? it pronounce as HuLaoYe...or more likely to be HUALAUYEH!!!
yup, is the year of Tiger..Metal Tiger if not mistaken. It marks my 1 year in Singapore too. as usual, this year obviously is more happening than previous one...
got an huge ang pao from management but spent all of them already...feel real good when spending money, but after that slightly guilty. Who cares? Happy then can already!!!
today also a lovely day for couples around the world. Valentine's Day it is...but it is less happening since family comes first especially for Chinese...plus Singaporean so know how to enjoy their life, majority of the shopping malls and food outlets close early yesterday and totally not operating on the next few days.
anyway, all I am thinking is how long will Cupid play with me this poor fellow...
shouldn't think about it at all as it is my crucial months, but somehow this day fall in between this period...should be alright in next few days.
so, HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR to everyone!!!
may you all have a prosperous year ahead of you and healthy always!!!
and happy valentine's day too...

it is time...

I have plenty to update on my JB trip with work mates and of course, my family visiting Singapore for cousin's wedding...
photos already been uploaded in facebook...I am getting lazier and lazier each day to update my blog. sorry for that.
someone told me Get A Life!!!
Then I think carefully, what is my life right now??
Get my report and project done, complete my internship, graduate and get a Degree, find a full time job and find a new place to stay. Thats my life right now...
been surrounded with same question when meeting my family..."Got girlfriend already a??"
my answer is "No..."
facebook's status is nothing hence already changed it back to Single..yes, I am always single.
dont even know should I think about it right now, but dont want to loose the chance though...
but need to focus and complete all the priorities first...in relationship?? not now...
update completed.
cheers!

what a decade..
10 years ago, I just graduated from primary school. SJK (Cina) On Pong. didn't know how to speak English, being a typical Chinese educated kid...
entering secondary school without a clue or life objective. Pick up everything from scratch, surrounded by English and Bahasa Malaysia. it was like a whole new thing for me. Felt helpless some times but didnt give up...
am glad that mom transfer me to Methodist Boys' Secondary School KL.
if not, I wont be who I am today...
academic wise, I got nothing much to say but joining St. John Ambulance changed me.
joining cause of my brother were in it and later it became part of my life during my secondary school years. from nothing to Champions of Wilayah, from nothing to becoming a leader...
I've learned a lot during these 5 years...
time flies, graduated from MBSSKL with an objective...entering college to get a diploma in Hospitality Management. Mass Comm still my first choice but I made my choice...
2 and half years in Sunway University College turned me into another person. I've learned even more. I grew up. More matured I believe.
entering working world for the first time during my 5 months internship in Penang. staying away from family is something new but got it well handled.
love life wise was a big failure, but still learning until now. this can really make me helpless from time to time, but am doing everything I could to ensure I have a great one in future...
and now...10 years later, I am getting my degree soon. am on going with my internship.
no longer a kid but an adult..still kiddy sometimes. wanted to be more mature in person, need to be more serious from time to time.
no doubt, 10 years had passed and I've changed a lot!!!
but I am still Edward Low Sew Yin...
there are many things in this world that can be fill in to this cup, hopefully I am able to fill it up with as many things as possible in the next few decades...
but look back at the decade that just passed, I can only say..."wow, what a decade..."

Ray's Party
on 6th January...we were invited to attend Ray Lau's aka Gum Yu Lou birthday celebration at some pub in Bugis.
in the afternoon, me and Desmond went to buy him a huge gigantic card and a present for him..

after meet up with everyone that include Carmen, Hann, Jeremy and Fiona, we went to meet up with our birthday boy...
introducing...
half drunk Mr. Lau who will be turning into 23 year old from Hong Kong...
Donna and some of Ray's friends already there...and we began to drink..
the boost...
when clock strikes 12...we celebrated his birthday...
already drunk Ray...
some snap shot with him...we were like that during work as well, just not as crazy as this...but we weren't drunk either...
it was a fun night...and I work morning shift the next day. didnt went home again but slept 1 hour in the locker before work.
anyway, love you guys!!! you guys make my life in Singapore more happening!!! thanks...

welcoming 2010...
Last day of 2009, had steamboat & BBQ at Bugis.
About 18 dollars per person but the soup sucks! enjoyed the BBQ more than steamboat.
then went to McDonald to have dessert.
then they went to Marina Bay to see fire works..
and for me who already planned not to sleep for whole night and straight go to work morning shift the next day, got another plan after leaving them.
it was a rare full moon on New Year's Eve...something extra to celebrate about. even I went to place without fire works, but still very fun and enjoyable.
surprisingly I didnt scream or yell when the clock strikes 12. But looking at others celebrating happily, I felt happy too.
spending whole night outside seeing the crowd getting lesser and lesser, from a noisy street to a quiet and peaceful street...
watching Sherlock Holmes at 2.45am was awesome!!! though I dozed off for few seconds when they talks about chemicals reaction...but other than that, it was a great movie! looking forward for the sequel. =D
next day on morning shift, the whole front desk looked like zombie zone...but we did everything professionally ( i think so..)
2010, I had 2 cups of coffee, 1 cup of milo and went home to sleep until 11pm before having my very first meal of the year.
Overall I had lot of fun and still looking forward for each day. But it is time to keep the party mode and bring out my assignment mode...(screw you report!) =_=" maybe next week la...
Happy New Year again!!!
counting down the days to see my family again...3 weeks from now! woohoooo!!!

thoughts in mind...
I dont know where else can I voice it out but my own place, so I broke my own promise to no body and post another entry here...
when you spent whole off day at home, most of the time you will start thinking about many things.
and mainly is life...yes, my own life.
what worse when it is the end of the year, think back...what have I done?? definitely many, but should it be more?? more as in more interesting, more happening, more meaningful...
because I spent most of my time sitting in front of laptop...
productive?? only when I go to class or internship...or when I rushing my assignments. other than that, basically I did nothing much.
did I wasted my entire 2009?? guess so...comes to think of it, what is the biggest achievement I have for this year?? I would said none, unless I consider 3 and half hours driving back to KL from Penang while raining heavily is an achievement. what about spending nearly RM50,000 to get a degree is a great achievement...ok, I have to wait till next year to achieve that. But the fees already been paid!
seriously, what did I achieved this year?? I kept asking myself again and again...the answer is none! basically I wasted 1 whole year doing a scheduled daily routine life....attended class and went home straight for almost 9 months. went to work and go home for 3 months...
what the fuck??!!
there goes my 2009...did I enjoy it??? yes and no...
I hate to be alone and yet..i am alone all the time.
emo entry it is...cause I fucking hate this feeling right now. I feel guilty to myself. I feel sorry to myself. I felt so useless from time to time...
2010?? dont know what to look forward. besides getting a degree and working full time. maybe add some spice to my life, if there is any..if not, it will still be the same.

concluding 2009
with barely 8 more days before the end of 2009...what have I done for this whole year??
one answer for sure, waste lot of money to study in Singapore. made my mom worry about me all the time because I am far away from her. but will be seeing my beloved family next month due to cousin wedding in Singapore!!!
my life is more happening at the final quarter of the year due to internship. got more friends, more outing but all are healthy outing. no drinking or money wasting activities...still do spend some on food, movie and badminton. but thats it, nothing more than that.until now I still have the same question like others who deadly wanted to ask me...how can I survive with 500 salary per month and rental already consumed 400. my answer to you is I dont know how either. some how I still be able to enter my third month of internship in one piece.
besides study and internship, I really didnt do much this year. maybe that is my 2009 objective. nearly accomplish with 3 more months to go and that bloody report.watched biggest movie of 2009 at cinema. 2012 and Avatar. both made me couldn't sleep for hours after watching the movie. awesome and must watch!!!
it is time to make up my mind where should I go after graduate, but my mind is still blur at this moment. hopefully I will have a clearer view sooner rather than later.
what else happened to me in 2009?? most happening should be officially becoming an adult. but still not doing any adult alike thing. still like a student. (no wonder Geylang prostitutes dont even bother to come close to me) what I meant by adult thing is not finding prostitutes, but more matured life time decision or something like that.am I lucky or what?? twice internship also very enjoyable experiences. although have some bad experiences but the good one can really overcome all the bad one. other than real life working experience, I still have to say this..I found another group of friends here in Singapore.
thank you very much for supporting, assist and guide me throughout these 3 months with another 3 months to go. I cannot survive without you guys and you guys really make my life more interesting and more happening. really glad to be able to work and learn from you all.
have I changed? I dont think so...still so lame and still being myself in front of everyone. started to lose control these few days, maybe is the new year coming syndrome. the party mode is on but cant really party due to working. but somehow still can find a way to enjoy it.yes, I am an entertainer and I have my own audience. =)
2009, not a bad year after all besides those heart broken moment. Other than that, I will appreciate everything I have learned in year 2009. Definitely going to appreciate my mom's effort to support my further study in Singapore with my deepest heart. My mom is No. 1 mom in the world!!!!!!! and I miss her very much.
anyway, Merry Christmas and Happy 2010 to everyone. thanks for keeping my life updated through out these 2 years and still counting.wish everyone best year ahead of you. =D
Edward Low signing off for 2009.

current life
already 2 months training in the hotel, what I get besides experience is...friendship.
got more people to hang out with now besides Jin. (wont feel gay anymore)
past 4 weeks, I played badminton once a week with them. 2 to 3 hours a day. my badminton skill is improving now. finally. twisted/ pulled muscle few times though, followed by carrying heavy luggage.

for the past 1 and half month, I see more prostitutes in my life than before. both near my work place and where I stays. now kind of use to it already, wont over react anymore. grown up? lol
OT twice due to heavy check out and heavy check in then once colleague MC.
First got a called by DM at 11pm when I was about to sleep. asked me start working at 5am cause heavy check out. I suppose to work at 7am. woke up at 4, took taxi to hotel. claim it back from hotel.
Second time, heavy check in. working midnight shift. but been asked to start working 2 hours earlier. so, 9pm to 7am.
Third time, I suppose to work from 11am to 7pm. Slept at 2am, got morning call from DM at 6.20am. ask to take over operator and be in hotel as fast as possible. woke up, shower and fast walk to MRT station. fast walk to hotel after that and reach hotel by 0705. (power sial)
reach there DM say, you can go home already. one staff already stand in for operator. but too late, so I just work in between operator, reservation and concierge. I work till 7pm that day. 4 hours sleep, 12 hours work.
the latest will be I work at the wrong shift, suppose to be 3-11 B shift but instead, I went to work at 11am. ended up volunteer to OT 4 hours and finish working at 11pm. 12 hours again!!!

finally, got my code for the system and started to do check in, check out. feel more complete being in the front office department. now, I can assist guest's request immediately even when I am in the concierge counter.
started to face some tough guests, but will do my best to be as professional as possible.
now, I got more duties, more responsibilities, more stress, more challenging....but I am READY!!!
but my report still hanging there, wish I could just do my internship and graduate without needing to do report and project.
got these photos at one night after finish working while on my way to MRT station. its full moon!!! and no, its not the sun, just street light. so galaxy lookalike.

Dead By Sunrise
when you are in this blog. the song you are listening, does the voice seems familiar to you?
yes, it is the shouting in Crawling. it is the voice of Chester Bennington.
Mike Shinoda got his Fort Minor.
Chester have his Dead By Sunrise together with Ryan Shuck and Amir Derakh since 2005.
the album Out of Ashes suppose to be released on 2006, but Chester put his priorities in Linkin Park's Minutes to Midnight.
but now, it is ready featuring the single "Crawl Back In"
the songs you are listening to is my favorite, Give Me Your Name.
enjoy!
rock on Chester!!!

new friends
after gone through my internship for 1 month, I have met many new friends from the hotel. majority of them are from Malaysia, so is easier to get along with them.
on one off day, I followed Nicole and Fiona to Merlion Park. I've been there before during day time, but it was my first "night" to see Singapore night view due to previous curfew.
the famous bling bling liu lian, Esplanade
the vomiting Merlion
Marina Bay Sands in progress 24/7
that is Nicole and Fiona from Ipoh and me looking at my potential place to work in future
after 1 "night out", few weeks later is one of my Duty Manager, Sharon's Deepavali open house. Not many turn up due to shift work, only few of us meet up at hotel and go to her place by bus. Raining heavily when we were in the bus nad took us nearly 1 hour to reach the interchange.
from interchange opposite Hougang MRT station
by the time we reach her place, we were all wet and hungry. (I never eat anything for whole day. been sleeping half of the day due to night shift)
we reach there close to 8pm, we departed from hotel at 5.30pm. in between we missed 2 busses at interchange. John reach earlier than us with his motorbike after finishing his work at 7pm
Jaya from Perak, my bell service supervisor presenting our mousse cake to Sharon. John greeting Sharon
belated Deepavali celebration
after saying hello, next thing is "we are hungry...."
all of us went to the kitchen to get some real proper Indian food.
John and Guna (blocked) both technicians taking their dinner and the table full with nice food!
my brunchner (breakfast + lunch + dinner)
nasi briyani, prawns, mutton, chicken and favorite cabbage that should cost more than 7 dollars. its free here!!! and taste gooooooooooooooooooooood!
that is Hann from Kedah and Carmen from KL.
after dinner, we enjoy some dessert
and Sharon show us her house and her wedding photos
then we left at 9pm because I will be working at night shift. if we stay, we could have drink vodka and beer. damn!
more activities coming up. played badminton with some of them every monday. back to healthy lifestyle!
need to work on my report and final project as well. stress!
