mini seafood gathering...

Before I came back from Singapore, I was so ready to go for another clubbing after my first attempt in Penang when I was having my internship way back on last March. I thought, I am soon going to be 21 already, must go out and explore more especially on how to become a real youth.

Does clubbing really will shows that you are a youthful teenager?I am not sure about that because I dont drink that often and I dont party that often either. Basically I am living a normal life, outgoing yet not too extreme. Some will say my life is boring, some will say I am a good boy, some will say I am just who I am. Well, I dont know either how to differenciate all these.

So the clubbing mode in me turn on to the max since I came back to KL and the party animal called Ong Lynn D is so kind to plan and organise it. But somehow somewhat it didnt turn up that way and guess what??

Yes, the clubbing plan cancelled and few of us went for a simple dinner instead of distroying our body with second hand smokes and alcohols. I dont mind on the alcohol part actually but cant do anything about it.

So, Stephenie suggested to eat seafood at KL and after a long week of smses and etc etc...we only managed to get few of the closest and willing to travel far people to gather around. Planning something in KL is as difficult as asking them who lives beyond Sunway area to take out 1 minute of their life to look at the sky. XD

well, due to few of them is working at afternoon shift and some already planned to go back hometown and some are simply too lazy to come all the way to Sunway but always expect us to go all the way to Sunway. Some have their own thing to do...so, end up only Stephenie and her bf ,Keng , Chin Yi, Tania and me plus another one who go there just to kepoh with us. Ms. Kenix (my sis) haha

the crowded place...

I reached that area a hour earlier than all of them, walk around for 1 hour and finally Tania arrived. Went to that place and Chin Yi arrived as well, so walk all the way back to Pavilion to bring her to that place while Tania stone there alone. When we reach that place, Steph and Keng already there. Then we start makan!!!

Golden Aromatic Crabs(Gum Hiong Hai)

Burned Salt Prawns ( Jiu Yim Ha)

Up Soup Clams (Siong Tong Lala)

Fried Rice
and
Fried Kuey Teow

We eat and eat until I got my crab and ready to eat...Kenix arrived and I have to bring her to that place as well. So the kepoh fella join us and didnt eat anything because she cant eat seafood.

the couple who enjoying the food...

the only college mates who attended the so called gathering. (we are the closest though)
Chin Yi came all the way from Cyberjaya and Tania from Sunway.

me with the kepoh Kenix who camewhore non stop with my camera (check facebook)

Steph's bf actually thought she is my sis. hahah.

me coconut~

after about 2 hours of eating and crapping...

the ending masterpieces by us...

I ate quite alot also...burp~

although more people is more fun, but this is good enough for few of us to catch up with each other's life. These girls look more matured already since 2 of them already step into the working world. I am like the youngest among them...besides Kenix.

Total we spent about RM200 with RM40 per person. Reasonable price...

oh crap, I ate alot again...Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Big meals for me!!! hahaha
I gained weight but I enjoy the eating moments...so, exercise later. haha

peace out~

Za-Ban boofetto

I spent mostly on food for this holiday.
After Bubba Gump on Monday, Wednesday I spent again on food.
This time is Japanese food and the place is non other than Jogoya.

lantern at the entrance...

This is rather a surprise decision from me than a well planned eating section. A day before Jin sms me and asked whether I want to join him and his 2 friends to eat at Jogoya cause he have this buy 1 free 1 voucher and some VIP dishes vouchers. Obviously 4 persons pay less than 3 persons. But at that moment I dont have mood for it until Wednesday morning I msn him because wanted to go Low Yat. Out of a sudden in my mine I think "what the heck?? my holiday is all about food, right?" So I agreed and join them for lunch at Jogoya.

Met them in front of Jogoya and got 2 new friends, Hann and Yoke. (no photos cause we dont do so)

oh wait, here is the only photo that they are in...

Yoke in red and Hann in white...the long sleeve skiny guy in front is Jin. lol

we seat near the entrance and the starter bar...

right opposite this place...

it was my first time being there and this place is huge!!! But heard lots of bad comment about this place so didnt expect much but it turn out to be a not bad experience because all I want is to eat Japanese food.

the appetiser counter...

the grilling bar...

the dessert bar...

the beverages bar...

there are many more like deep fried, soups, seafood, vege...etc etc

near the entrance...

we paid rm44 each and start eating from 2pm to 4.30pm. More like a high tea + lunch. But definitely another skipping dinner day for me. haha

the clip for prepare on the spot dish, just place in the bowl at the counter and they will get it done and serve to you.

here are the food I ate. Some sharing, some all by myself. It was my first time here so I dont really know how is the procedures like. Hantam only whatever I can..haha

VIP dish, so called lobster that size is worse than a tiger prawn. The head is 3/4 and the meat is only 1/4. We shared that 1/4 meat of this LOBSTER...

I was very full before start eating dessert, so thats what I got...sadly cant taste more of their dessert.

we drank some hot tea and I myself have a coconut and a glass of AK47 + Cuba Libra. Yes, I mix both cocktails together. Turn out not bad...haha

The whole experience was not bad as I said, but one thing I am not so satisfied was their service. At the entrance when we do our payment, we were served properly with polite tone. But after the payment the moment we step into the restaurant. Its like a normal buffet restaurant. They failed on the proper Japanese service with friendly and polite. They take it too easy and think the food is enough to keep our attention away. But not for me...

Waitresses are talking to each other while patrolling for empty plates on our table.

They serve the food by putting on the table without saying anything and before we say thank you, they already turn away. (maybe too busy)

When we stone and choose the food we want, they didnt bother to help or suggest. (they stone along)

When I wanted to get the dessert, that fella behind the counter just get the cake I want, place on the plate, put on the counter and continue talking with his friends.

WTF is all I have to say. Jogoya used to have a good reputation among Japanese Food lovers. But not anymore, heard about their food quality dropped and now I know that even their service sucks.

ok, whatever it is, I spent 44 bucks on Japanese food...great!

ohya, I got my laptop skin on as well...finally.

super cool eh...thanks to my brother's designer hands.

oh crap...1 more week and I will be going back to my little chamber.

until then, enjoy my last week of this holiday in MALAYSIA to the fullness!!!!

Eat Forrest Eat

If you look at my blog header, it is links up with this following entry. Everything started when I was still stonning in Singapore and when some complain about my blog skin makes their eyes pain. During that time, Pui Ee, a mass comm student from Taylors is super free so she agreed to make a header for my blog. I owe her 1 meal because of this...

we've been talking about what to have for many weeks until I came back to KL and suddenly she craved for salad. So our starting point is looking for place to have salad. After about a week of planning then end up we decided to try out some fancy food for once in our life time.
On monday afternoon, we went to The Curve. It was my first time being there after several times visited Ikea cause of my brother.

Yes, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. is the place...

heard about it and read about it...now it is time to experience it.

The interior I would rather says its an Alabama style because there is where Forrest Gump from. Ya, the concept is based on Tom Hank's movie named Forrest Gump with famous quote like "Life was like a box of chocolate, you never know what you're gonna get"

the whole restaurant is decorated with photos from the movie and any other things that is related to the movie.

entrance from our seats...

wall at our seats...

everywhere you can see Tom Hank's face and famous quotes from the movie. To be honest, both of us didnt watch this movie before and after visiting this restaurant, I really feel like wanted to watch this movie badly.

ps: who have this show, please borrow me. I want to see Forrest Gump run~

the beverages and dessert menu on a ping pong bat with a plat says "Run Forrest Run"
When you shows this, service staffs will ignore you cause they are 'Forrest' and this sign is telling them to keep moving.

But if you wanted their attention, you have to switch it to "Stop Forrest Stop". Then only they will come to you. We dont have to raise our hand, this is so useful for lazy people like us.

all these were explained by the spontanious waiter with his weird slank english that we cant really understand at all but still trying our best to listen to his explaination.

the bucket with sauces, vinegar and a roll of tissue.
I think this is the only fancy restaurant that provide lousy quality serviette and no one will complain about it. haha

Then while we were stoning with the menu and thinking what to order, a waiter came to recommend us to start with some drinks. (I learnt that during my diploma time too)

So I ordered a Mama's favorite and Pui Ee got a Mango Sparkler.

Then after stone for awhile more, we placed our order and continue stonning.

This is Pui Ee with her trademark face... =_="

While we continue stoning, a waiter came and entertain us with some trivia questions about Forrest Gump. For both of us who never watch the movie before somehow got 2 out of 3 right. Thanks to me who is too free to look around.

no 1. Where does Forrest Gump from?
Alabama. (so obvious, almost half of the menu has this name.)

no.2 Who is Forrest Gump's girlfriend?
Jenny. (somehow I asked about this name when I saw it on the menu)

no. 3 What is Forrest Gump's number? (this is not the full question but this is what I heard)
Answer is 44. His football jersey number.

What a way to entertain customers and make our waiting time shorter. Then he brings out 6 tiny sticks and form 2 triangles.

He asked us to move only 1 stick to form 4 triangles.

Pui Ee is totally blur and I am quite sure I saw this before but just not in my mind for that moment. So we play with it and tried our best by cheating as well...

4 triangles la!!!! we did it!!!! =_="

then our drinks came...

my Mama's favorite. Not my mom's favorite but is Forrest Gump's mom's favorite. lol.

Its a cocktail with kahlua, vanilla and some other ingredients which I cant remember. I expected it to be something like Forest Black Irish but it taste abit different and the drink is BIG!!!

Mango Sparkler...a non-alchoholic beverage for a girl who is below 20. XD

then we continue to stone with that 2 triangles until our main purpose for this visit been serve on the table.

Tossed Chicken Salad (not the real name)
lettuces, tomatoes, cabbage, grilled chicken cutlets, avocado with sweet sour dressing. Couldn't tell what is it but I like the taste.

our maincourse came at the same time as well, because this salad is a heavy salad and not an appetiser.

my Bourbon Street Baramundi (recommended by the waiter)
Its grilled Cajun-spiced baramundi fish with bourbon street sauce and grilled shrimps on top of mashed potatoes. Two thumbs up with a tongue sticking out at the side of my mouth.

Pui Ee's Salmon and Veggie Skillet
Grilled salmon and fresh asperagus, carrots and lots of onions with garlic herb butter and capers on Jasmine Rice. She couldn't finish it but should be two thumbs up from her as well.

Before we started to enjoy our meal, we asked the waiter to solve the problem he set for us.
So he moved one stick and form 4 triangles in front of us...

o_O" -------> =_="

ok, we were blur that time.

so we have our meal and by the time we finish our salad and main course, we were bloated and couldn't really move.

burp~

But I already ordered a dessert, kind of regret cause we are very full at that time. We put the dessert on hold for about 10 to 15 minutes.
Then the dessert came...

Chocolate Chips Cookie Sundae.
vanilla ice cream topped with chocolate sauce on top of a chocolate chips cookie. Burp burp burp burp~~

we didnt managed to finish it and its kind of waste. My advise, dont order dessert first. Only order it after finishing your main course if you still can eat.

Total, we both spent RM 164.90 which is the highest we have ever spent on a meal. But its worth and I highly recommend you guys out there to give it a try. Treat yourself some proper good food after hard work, but not often ofcourse. haha
