Vivo Dim Sum

Last Sunday, was an outing with my aunties, cousins and uncle. Again, I am the youngest. We had dimsum at one of the most well known Chinese restaurant in Singapore. Been told that when my cousin got engaged about 10 years ago, they had their meal here.

it is called, Hundred Years Oat Swirling Restaurant. (direct translation...)

I dont really bother about the name of the restaurant because I was clueless when I got into the car...

Mongkok Cha Chan Teng have Kwok Chun On to be their ambassador. This restaurant got their head chef instead.

at the entrance...

his face can be seen every where around the restaurant. In the elevator, throughout the stair case leading to the restaurant's entrance, the entrance, even on TV!!! There is 4 TVs in the restaurant and all they play is recorded shows, news...etc etc where the head chef was in. Forgotten his name but he won gold madel in Gourmet 2005. While we walking up to the restaurant, we saw the real person...

all the awards they got...

what a way to promote this restaurant, but if you dont tell me there is a restaurant on top of a 9 storey building, I wouldn't know because it is near the port with lories and big containers around.

it is a typical restaurant that will turn while you are having your meal so you can have best view around the town, like the one at KL Tower. But nothing much you can get from a 9 storey building.

cousin Amy said when we finish eating, it will complete 1 round and it took about 1 hour to complete turning. Does that means the restaurant want us to leave in 1 hour time?? Maybe that is their strategy to have more tables turnover.

once back in KL, my aunt told us while we having have dimsum for breakfast. She said "you cant say you had dimsum unless you ate a chasiew bao"

then I saw the key player of Singapore...

what??? the moment I saw them, this is what in my mind....

well, maybe you guys think about something else...

this place is where the entreport thingy happen...thats why I say it is the key player of Singapore.

seriously, do you see what I see?? Dinosaurs drinking water??

ok, fine..back to the restaurant.

the restaurant is quite small actually, but I cant see the kitchen at all. Until one point when I saw this...

the reason why I didnt show all the dimsum I ate because they are just the same. But this 1 is quite special...

goreng pisang with crab meat...

the taste is abit funny cause of the sweetness of banana and the savoury of crab meat. But it is something new for me...

when we almost finish eating, we saw Sentosa...

Starcruise!!! I feel like working in a cruise in future...

the sky is quite hazey cause of Indonesia and somewhere in Tampines. But the main cause for this is we, HUMAN!!!

this place opposite Vivo City have 8 pubs inside. All of them played different type of music from Jazz to Pop.

not all actually, 3 of them from KL and Ipoh. My aunt's sisters and my mom's cousin. Then there is my aunt's family with 2 cousin sis. The reason why I have to dinner at the park is because they came over to shop with my aunt.

after lunch, we went to Vivo City...

while the ladies went for shopping, I went to walk around alone...
something caught my attention...

not hot chicks...

(then slow trumpet sound plus violin...)

then you see 1 yellow rectangular come out from black background...then many many yellow rectangular...

err...nvm la, forget the stupid intro I made...
yup...a National Geographic's shop..

it is everything under National Geographic Society...

from documentary dvd to books and megazines, from furnitures to photos, from t-shirts to pants...you name it, they have it. Everything by NGS.

I cant afford most of the things inside, 1 T-shirt simply cost 40SGD...so all I got is a book.

Story of NGS for 11.90SGD...

just want to find out more about this Society. Now only I know Alexander Graham Bell was one of the director of this society...

after that I walk around the whole Vivo City and found out something very interesting...

ok la, forget it...all I want to say is if you still remember Zohan went to find job at a children hair salon...

this is what I saw in Toy 'R' Us...

they have a screen infront showing cartoons...so innovative!!!

with this, Zohan dont have to use that special pinch at the back of the neck anymore!!!

now a days escalator determine how good a shopping center is...like Pavilion, Vivo City have a more complicated escalators set up...

then I went back first cause I have done walking the entire Vivo City in 2 hours time...

on the way walking around the place I stay while waiting for them to come back...

I saw lots of tissue on the floor...wth??

then I went to stone at the park again while looking at people doing exercise and I saw this...

aged couples exercising in their traditional costumes...very romantic actually.

thats all, I have an assignment which due date is this friday and I didnt start yet...woohooo!!!

life without key...

I think I am the only person who live in Singapore and wont have any keys in my pocket when I leave the place I stay.

Mom told auntie dont need to duplicate keys for me since I seldom go out and come home late. Well, basically is that my auntie's family will sleep at 10pm everyday and so far I only hang out with Jin Min.

Therefore, I always be at home by evening because I got no where to go. Only on rare occasion like last Sunday I went to NTU and play futsal with Jin's friends and for your information, NTU is at North side of Singapore and is close to JB. How far will it be?? check the map!!! I reached home by 10.30pm that night. That was also I rush home, if not...my aunt will have to stay up longer just to wait for me.

back to CNY, I was 'forced' to watch movie alone because I cant stay at home and dont know what to do. I dont even know when will they be back home, and end up I have instant noodle for dinner that night because they ate outside without informing me.

well, actually I am ok with all this stuff. Mom said only few months so bare with it and if got keys, will be mafan (troublesome) for them cause it might be high chances for me to go home late. But look on the other side, without key...they must be at home before I reach home and I must call them to make sure they are already at home before I can even go home!!! Any changes on that I will have to stay outside just to wait for them to reach home.

Take wednesday as example, I was told to have dinner by myself cause some of my auntie's sisters came down to Singapore and for some reason I am not in their dinner plan. But I am fine with it so after online for whole afternoon in college decided to have dinner before go home. After I reached Kovan and bought my dinner, got a call from cousin. She said they are heading to Ang Mo Kio Hub for dinner and asked wheater I want to join or not. But earlier aunt called and ask me to have dinner by myself. Unfortunately I bought my food already so there is the conflict came on...

6.30pm I got my dinner and ready to go home but they already on the way to have dinner while cousin joining them over there. Which means no one will be at home.

so I went to the garden opposite my place to have my dinner. Still doing fine but looks kind of sad...I was like some homeless college student having dinner in a garden.

Just imagine by yourself...some guy sitting at the corner having his dinner.

and my dinner cost me 7 dollar, just want to treat my stomach better so dont mind about spending more. But end up having a not so fine dinner at a not so fine place....what a day~

sounds reasonable only until I found out inside is a shrimp instead of prawn...

Ramlee Burger Special for 3 SGD!!!

for some reason, I found that Singaporean like to con and get conned. Or they just dont know what a Ramlee Burger is like at the first place. Their special is just patty wrap with egg...thats it!!!!

compared to this???

patty, sausage, cheese, egg and coldslaw and cause only RM4.20 back in Penang.
even if we buy Ramlee Burger in KL, Sunway or Ampang...the price range is between RM2.50 to Rm3 and with more ingredients inside!!!

I MISS MALAYSIA's FOOD!!!!

it has been awhile since I drank a beer...so I decided to have one that evening but cant afford Carlsberg or Tiger so got a beer that only cost 2.30 SGD. Cheapest in 7-11.

But I never heard before and it taste like aluminium...I dont even know where it came from!!

I have my dinner for as slow as possible but still finish them in 30 minutes. What next?? on laptop and stone. Fortuntely I can online at the garden...so, not really a bad day~

So, conclusion is with keys will cause inconvenient for both parties or without keys will cause inconvenient for both parties???

Picky

well, it has been about 2 months or so since Picky went missing for the second time. No news until now.

when she first went off, I was too sad and made a video about her as a memory. Thought she will never come back but once the video is done, she is back.

now, second went off and 2 months later...

I decided to post this video up...

quite alot things happen for the past few days...

first, outting with cousin Corey who just drop by few days in Singapore before flying back to Australia. We had steamboat at Bugis for SGD18 per pax.

First time being outside at night in Singapore since I came over here to study. (after 1 month plus)

she bought me 3 Ts cause see me so kesian always stay at home, such a lovely sis of mine!!

it is Valentine's Day but it was the worse Valentine's ever in my life. cant blame anyone with what happen, I will say the timing is not right. But no matter what, she will still be someone very special that ever appear in my life. I dont want the ending to be this way too. I will only remember the sweet memories we have, but no space for any bad one. Sorry is the only word I can say. thanks for everything. take care.

Valentine's Day

when William decided to study in Manchester and will be there alongside with Kar Teng, Joanna envy him by saying he is so lucky cause can go oversea study without seperating with his girlfriend. 

I told her, you are lucky too because Sam willing to pay her airticket in order for her to visit him in Australia when she is having holiday while still studying in India. But she insist that she is not lucky enough and want more than that...even compare to my situation. sigh...=_=" Now she made the choice to study in Australia and stay with Sam after all the conflict. Things going well for her, no more complaint...

but look at me, do I need to envy her and William?? or am I suppose to feel jealous towards any other couple on this earth that they can spend almost everyday together or seeing each other often?? I have no complaint but wait...

I am doing this because there is always someone who suffer more than me. I always think positive which makes me feel better. Think about how those couple in the older days, no phone, no email, no msn but letter...wait for months to get 1 letter, reply and wait again...I am lucky cause living in the 21st century.

is not about the distance, because even couples that seeing each other day in day out still end up breaking up. So the keys here is Faith and Trust. 

so, appreciate with what you have.

I am alone again in this coming Valentine's, but I wont be depress or complaint...

I hate Lala, but once I saw a Lala couple who are so lovingly together...

I tell myself, no matter they are Lalas, Gays, Lesbians or whatever it is...as long as they love each other, they will be blessed with happiness.
