Hua-lau eh~

How did you celebrate your CNY??
spend some precious moments with family ofcourse...that is what we usually do and that is what CNY is all about.
but mine is always a bit different since last year where I spent my CNY standing at the lobby and greet guests...haha
this year, is slightly better but still not the way I want...

had Abalone Yu Sang on New Year Eve...
Singapore's abalone is damn cheap...for them at least

then had steamboat for reunion dinner with my auntie's family.

on first day of new year, I did something I used to do on last Valentine's Day. (if you remember my lonely CJ7...)

This year, due to the 'pai seh-ness'. So I didnt follow my auntie to visit her family and get ang pau. I end up watching 'The Wedding Game'. Last year I was surrounded by couples and this time I was surrounded by families...

this whole thing cost me 17 SGD....T.T (worse than lost money on gamble...the feeling not the total amount of money)

the sky is quite cloudy on first day of CNY...not the usual hot weather we used to have

on the second day of CNY..its slightly better.

Went to Sentosa to see flowers...it has been 5 years since they have this thing going on every CNY.

super long queue to get ticket for going to Sentosa...

(see the stadium kind of sitting at the far end?? those are the middle part of the line, not those in front of this photo...)

and ticket dont even sell outside here...not under the hot sun...but they have to line up again in Vivo City.

purchase monorail tickets from these machine. Only 3SGD for whole trip. (you can choose to drive, sit monorail, sit bus , sit cable car or even walk to Sentosa from Harbour Front.

entrance...

there are millions of flowers in Sentosa and everyone will go..."wah!! very nice..." "wah!! very beautiful..."

even them also go...

WAHHHH!!!!

the icon of Singapore...Merlion.

he is quite shy, cause everyone like to take photo with him by standing under him...so he try to cover his private part with his tail~(I know I am lame)

something that Korean believe it will chase away evil spirit...(dont ask me why are all these can be found in Sentosa)

I also thought I go there to see only flowers...

I was more lost when I saw buffalo...fake buffalo in the water??? Mana Bunga???

luckily is free entry...if not I will whack the buffalo.

ok, enough of my crapping...

following are the photos of flowers which I have taken. Not all...the full album is in my facebook.

Lazy to type...so enjoy the photos!!!

flower...flowers...

flowers...orchid la....

"ahh...so clever" =_="

looks like fire works...

my favorite and best shot of the day....So CNY mood right??

even have bamboos...

automatic watering system which without warning sign...some of them who ready to take photo got wet cause of this. haha

more flowers...

every flowers need help from wind, butterflies or bees to breed...flowers cant have sex with each other, they use 'sperm bank system'

but there is 1 type of flower which can do so...

I used to call it 'kuku jiao flower' since young...

I think their partner is Monkey Cup...o_O (bare with my lameness)

lavenders....

Bunga Raya!!!

feels close to home once again...although I cant find a red one...

flowers again...

after seeing flowers, I found Merlion's partner...

meet Merlioness... +_=" (bare with me again...please)

more Merlion with flowers...

Cow family with Merlion...

then move to Beach Station to see beach...

but sadly, their beach with border...even Port Dickson is better then this.

after flowers, is about sky....

bird flying away~

Sentosa is going green....so if you have extra money to spend...do try this~

Jacky Chan launched this thing few days ago...

with this, you can go around Sentosa Island without feeling tired or poluting the world.

Dont really have time to walk around Sentosa Island beside looking at the flowers and sky because I am with aged people, so have to be understanding...

In over hundreds of photos that I have taken, you will never find me inside. Haha. Want to take photo with Happy in my next visit to Sentosa. =) (still waiting...)

auntie said, you can spend whole day in Sentosa because it is very big and many things to do over there. But next year onwards, I think we need to spend atleast 1 week in Sentosa.

because...

coming soon....

Hotels, Casinos, Universal Studios, Marine Life Park, Water Park and etc etc etc...

1 day will never be enough anymore...

that is how I spend my first 2 days of CNY...a bit sad cause not with my family and only got 2 ang pau...but I think is better than walking naked around Holland Village on New Year eve.

Cow Car Water Complex

Just 2 days before Chinese New Year or better known as Lunar New Year in Singapore. On a fine morning, I followed auntie to a better place to get reunion dinner ingredients and a place where all of the Chinese must visit when they come to a country, Indian have Little India around the world and Chinese have Chinatown around the world as well.

Back in Malaysia, we have Petaling Street which sadly has become more like a pirated street which only sell pirated stuff and food that only tourists are willing to get con.

But in Singapore, their Chinatown is more like a 1 stop shop with reasonable price.

Cow Car Water!!!

we have 1 as well in Damansara, but ofcourse those cow, car and water is for high end people who live in Damansara. This Cow is a place for everyone with any status in Singapore.

Outside the Chinatown complex is a huge temple which newly build. Despite, even the complex itself has just finish renovated few months ago...

the temple

been told that it is lots cheaper over here and easier to find what you want...

first stop is to buy fish and auntie insist she will only buy fish from this stall cause they will chop the fish for her.

pieces of fish wrapped nicely ready for Yu Sang~

the fishes are so fresh that it seems like they jump on to the ice and die there.

beside fresh fishes, the service they provide are so good as if you are in Tesco or something. Let say, if you watch Jamie Oliver buying ingredients on his show...it is similar to that. Not to mention they are very polite, unlike the usual Pasar people...
maybe because it is newly renovated and well mantained...so the floor is very clean even though it is wet
see????

so clean that I think Lynn D will start going to buy groceries...or mabe not~

most of them arrange everything nicely like supermarket and keep it clean...even the stall that sells life toads, turtles makes you think it is a pet shop...

toads having group sex while waiting to be serve on dining table...

life eel that you will go eeeeewwwww cause they are really disgusting....but hope to have a chance to taste them sometime...

next stop, vegetables....

fresh veges!!!

well arranged veges just like supermarket...

it is close to New Year eve and everyone are buying vege for reunion dinner...

buy ahhhh!!!!

the lady boss for this stall is so busy that she carried box and box of fresh veges from the storage place into the crowd...

even this egg stall can 'tapao' Joanna's business....hahaa

this complex have 3 floors, the lowest is market, second will be retail stalls and third is the food court

retailing which more like a shopping mall...

after having brunch on third floor, went to the street outside and take a walk...

umbrellas...

a very Petaling Street feel..

this street only will become like that before Chinese New Year and they only sell things that related to CNY...

Taiwanese candies!!!

CNY decorations...

Chinese sausages!!!

Nian Gao or Year cake???

my favorite...Mandarin Oranges!!!

Wulou, Pumpkin and Buddha Palm (hanging on top)

the street performers are very professional over here as well...

=)

after got everything we needed, then we call it for a day and leave Chinatown...

due to uncle is driving, so I cant show you all the street decorations they have over here...wasted!

HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR!!!

*thanks for the kind person who allow me to use the wireless without informing him. lol.
