sudden return

Thursday evening, got green light from college and hotel saying that I can go back to KL for a week or 2 until further notice regarding to my training pass.

Few days back, mom has been calling to ask me whether can go back for holiday or not but during that time I cant confirm anything. But since now, everything seems to be kind of settle down in Singapore. What else?? go home of course. I dont want to stay in my room online everyday until I get my training pass!!!

At first thinking of going back on Saturday, but my bro asked me to packed my things and go get a ticket the next day then go home!

I do not want to take the risk although holiday season is over. So, search through internet and get the Starmart's phone number. (my usual transportation between KL and Singapore, no flight for me yet)

got 11.30am bus because need to buy something for Lee Keng under heavy pressure since the day she left Singapore.

I told my brother about my arriving time and stuff, but told him not to tell my mom about it. Want to surprise her. haha

on my way home...its been awhile since I last saw huge empty land and scenery without buildings blocking.

I watched Street Fighter, the legend of Chun-Li on the bus. I feel like laughing although no doubt Kristin Kreuk is very hot but the moment she speaks Chinese, I just cant stop laughing. These Hollywood people is ruining our Asian culture character. Just find an Asian to act!!! Dont tell me in the whole wide world, there is no one Asian actress as hot as Kristin Kreuk!!!

anyway, I reach KL around 5.40pm because the bus went in Melacca. As I look at the sky, I knew I will be greeted with beautiful sunset when I reach home.

I am damn right!

but problem occur, they change the pad lock and I dont have the key for it. So I have to wait outside the house until they come back. All I can do is looking at the sun set at my beloved KL city.

brother is rushing back so I can be at home and give my mom a big surprise. but plan failed as my mom came back few minutes before he does.

when mom came back, she thought I was my brother. but after 2 seconds of confirmation, we hugged and I got "scolded" for not informing her about my return. then Edmund came back and both of us been called "sui zai" for several times until she settle down.

the feeling of home...just warm my heart

immediately the tired feeling is gone but got nothing to do that night, so just stay at home and relax.

nothing else I can ask for besides seeing my family are still as healthy as always.

KL is where I belong

klak key

On Thursday, we have been asked to attend an internship briefing in college at 4pm. After staying at home objectivelessly. Ya, after exam. Our holiday in Singapore is just holiday whereby we looking forward to get a placement for internship. Mine is more "happening" because of Lee Keng and co. visited Singapore on weekend and an interview on Tuesday. After the interview, I got nothing much to look forward to anymore until Thursday.

Before going to college, we decided to walk around in Clarke Quay during lunch time. A place that is much more happening at night but leave me no choice to explore it on day time. Been here once at night about 4 years ago during Christmas and once for lunch with uncle Hong's family.

This is the first time I really walk around to see what is Clarke Quay all about. I know I will see more at night, but what can I do. Maybe next time it will happen.

No doubt Clarke Quay is a trendy place.

the seats around the area..

trendy foldable ice cream stall...cool!!!

Singapore River that connecting Clarke Quay and Boat Quay

we crossed the bridge and find out not so happening yet because it was still day time, so we went back to where we came from and find for place to have our lunch.

the more happening place once the sun goes down

we have our lunch at food court because we cant afford good food

we ate western food, purchase of 4 dollars and above in a single receipt can get an Ice Kacang at half price. But we only have one receipt, but the stall's owner asked another stall to give us one of their receipts so we can get 2 ice kacang at a price of one. never expect to get such good service at food court. not because they give us another receipt to buy ice kacang, but the way the owner communicate with us.

spaghetti with grilled pork chop, fries and ice kacang. =D

Knowing that Singapore is a small country and after Monday exploring Raffles Place all the way back to Bugis. This time we tried to walk from Clarke Quay back to Bugis which is possible.

crossing the road and going to Raffles Place

how to find Raffles Place?? follow the tall buildings of course!

is that simple!

walk through all the shop lots

and you will come to Boat Quay, the other end will be where Fullerton Hotel located

then we walk around to find our way to Esplanade like what I did few days back, but unfortunately it is close to F1 GP. So most of the walk way have been blocked and no way we can walk through without ticket. damn!!!

but we came to the opposite of Esplande.

the real Merlion that kept vomiting for many years. He/She got striked by lightning on his/her head few months back. seriously I still dont know it's gender.

closer look on Marina Bay Sands Resort, another place I hope to get a job from.

since we cant walk all the way to Bugis because of road block, so we have been forced to take MRT from Raffles Place. Kind of cool though, because Clarke Quay is purple line and Raffles Place is red line. Singapore is very convenient even by walking!

after the so called briefing whereby lecturer told us things that we alread knew. I got my letter from college and need to hand to Hotel Royal @ Queens' HR department.

need to wait for around 2 to 3 weeks before Singapore approved my training pass, so next thing I do is. GO BACK TO KL!!!

the hotel that I will be having my internship at if everything goes well. I rejected their full time job offer anyway. I am quite sure I can get a better job after graduate in Singapore.

Holiday in Singapore (Day 3)

Got a miss call from Lee Keng at 8.30am that woke me up from my dream, then read a sms from her sent at 5.30am asking me to meet them at 9.00am.

Is their last day in Singapore and as planned, I will bring them walk around. As in literally walk around. This can happen because only the young one will follow. So, I get myself ready and rush to Ochard as fast as possible. Reach at 9.30am and they were late again.

Anyhow, we went to Raffles Place and will walk all the way back to Bugis.

Raffles Place. Is my second time to be here but some how I still cant control myself and take photos...because blue sky and hot sun = good photos...somehow~

while they are busy taking photos of each other, I just snap around by myself.

Singapore River

Cavenage Bridge

Mr. Stamford Raffles in front of Victoria Theater

Group pic with Mr. Raffles. front to back : me, Alex (LK's bro), Mun Yee and Mun Hoe (LK's cousin) and Lee Keng.

Then we cross the road to reach Esplanade. But its not just a normal road, its all fenced up with lighting around...

Its Singapore F1 Grand Prix's race track!!! really nothing comes closer than this...

Marina Bay Sands Resort in progress. Once the project completed, Singapore will be more happening and Singapore F1 GP will have another selling point!

another group pic in front of Esplanade, at this point we were all very hungry because still didnt have our breakfast yet. They bought 4 Ais Krim potong for "breakfast"

we were at the spot where we can see all the famous tourism spot in Singapore. They are all around each other anyway, we walked all the way from those tall buildings!!!

then we went in Marina Square where they had McDonald's for lunch. After lunch, we continue our journey to Bugis but came across Singapore's War Memorial Park before that.

still think that our Tugu Negara more "yeng" than this chopsticks...

up next, we go to Singapore first and most elegant hotel, Raffles Hotel.

front view of Raffles Hotel

inside the hotel with shops and bar
corridor and group pic

cute Japanese kid

main entrance and lobby

they rejected my application as intern. maybe future can work here as full time.

after that, we went to Bugis Junction where we didnt really explore the day before followed by Bugis Street for some shopping and to Iluma to just have a look under special request from Lee Keng.

Bugis Street and Iluma

Then we went to Ochard and meet her aunty and grandma at Astria. They continue their shopping and I continue my eyes washing.

then the young one went to ION to have a look. wanted to bring them eat MOS burger but cant find any in Ochard. there is one in Takashimaya but we went to the other side and ended up eating Japanese satay bento for dinner.

Tori

should have familiarize Ochard more. what to do, I only ate MOS burger once in my 9 months at Singapore.

After dinner, bit farewell with them where they need to rush back to hotel and head to airport. And I have an interview the next day. Really had some great time with them and I feel more lifely than before, only for few days though.

anyway, I got the job at Hotel Royal @ Queens in Front Office. Now waiting for my training pass, that is why I am back in KL. =)

Holiday in Singapore (Day 2)

After walking the whole Ochard Road, Vivo City and Siloso Beach. I can barely feels my legs, so I slept at 12am plus and didnt know what is their plan for next day besides having buffet lunch in one of the hotels. Of course I wont join them. Seriously I dont see the benefit of having buffet on a trip, besides eating lots of food, there is just waste of time. If I am a tourist, I would rather use those time to explore more!

So, I woke up and take my own sweet time having breakfast, online then lunch. It is first day of Raya anyway. As I was about to have my lunch (my aunt cook rigatoni with anchovies, fish ball and meat ball soup, Chinese style), the Muslim neighbour living opposite gave some traditional Malay food for lunch. Perfect timing!!!

curry chicken, chili sotong, belacan chicken, lotong and ketupat for lunch!!!

Then got a sms at 12pm asking me to meet them in City Hall Station at 12.30pm. One word, Impossible!!! and it was raining heavily. Once the rain stop, I rush out and try my best to reach City Hall as soon as possible. As I reached Dhoby Ghaut interchange, Lee Keng said meet at Bugis instead. So I go to Bugis and wait.

Then she sms again and said, they are shopping in Robinson at Raffles City. I have to wait some more. =_=" (same like yesterday only...) But lucky me, its Sunday, its Raya first day and I am in one of the most crowded MRT station in Singapore, Bugis! Got myself a bottle of Ice Lemon Tea and waited in front of the station's exit for 1 whole hour! But with my iPod on and my eyes glancing through every single hot chick walks pass me...time flies!!!

Soon, they arrived and we walked around Bugis Junction..

more hot chicks!!!

Then to Bugis Street, actually just walk through it to go to Bencoolen. Again because of aunties and grandma, plus its hot and humid and crowded everywhere. So didnt walk much.

thats Lee Keng and her friend who works in Singapore, Joseph before crossing the road to Bugis Street.

Mid Autumn Festival's decoration with HUGE non-eatable mooncake

and lantern

soon, enough we are looking for a place to sit and cool ourselves down.

there was a huge crowd surrounding some street performers.
its a golden age street performers that attracts golden age audiences...its a golden age area anyway. Bugis Junction and Bugis Street for youngsters, then these place for ah ma and ah pek.

all of them watching aunties singing and uncles dancing...

and this uncle is doing free style street dance on some classical hokkien song!!! He moved too fast until the photo is blur...power sial!

being typical Pang Lee Keng, she found something to obessed with in Singapore.

I dont know what to call this but Mr. Happy and etc etc...selling SGD1.80 per egg with 2 inside. Collectable items always attract peoples to buy. Collections of Lee Keng, her bro Alex and her 2 cousins, Mun Yee and Mun Hoe. I dont fancy it....

then we come to this famous dessert restaurant called Ice Monster to cool ourselves down. It is from Taiwan and have branches around Singapore, Japan, Korea, Hongkong and...Malyasia.

they serve fine desserts, but I didnt eat any cause its way too expensive for me.

yes, your eyes got no problem and my typing got no problem as well..

it is written on the menu...Malyasia!!! Disgrace for fellow Malaysians like me, should our government sue them??

then as they were enjoying the dessert, aunties and grandma wanted to go back hotel because they will be having Japanese food for dinner. They wanted to go back and get ready...

all I can say is, I wasted my entire afternoon for nothing. Apparently Lee Keng also kind of unhappy with their schedule but cant do anything. so, after sending them off by taxi again. ouch!

I went to Dhoby Ghaut and walk around all by myself.

evening sky...

Dhoby Ghaut is where the palace located and its actually located at Ochard Road. But Ochard station is red line while Dhoby Ghaut is purple line. Now you can see how small convenient Singapore is.

Nothing much to walk around Dhoby Ghaut but Plaza Singapura.

I just walk through entire building and look for food to eat.

after surveying around, I finally decided to have something hot again!

B.F.F. from Chippy...10 pieces of fish and some chips. Deep fried!!!

after suffering from 1st degree burn when eating my 6 takoyaki yesterday, I suffer yet another burn in my mouth. Some skin got peel off in my mouth. Ouch!!

But I enjoy it and went home without feeling tired at all, because their last day will be the best day and most tiring day. =D
